Local Social News From Alpine and Surrounding Areas

Mrs W E Neill of Van Horn visited her sister Mrs J W Praser with her son Elly and Jor Ben Wheat. Miss Elvie Fulcher visited friends in El Paso. Mrs W E Miller and her daughter wintering in San Angelo visited here. Several families and friends from Alpine traveled to El Paso and Corpus Christi for the holidays. Joe Pennington married Mrs Elsie Williams on December 31 in Douglas Arizona. Mrs W H Knox and daughters visited Alpine then returned to El Paso via Pro's. Families from Alpine, Rock Springs, Grapeland, and Lafayette traveled to see relatives. Turney family’s holidays noted. many visitors and return trips documented.

Church Services and Sermon Topics Across Local Faiths

Opening of New Shop on Sth St Announced

Rev. David J. Murray plans to open a second hand and exchange shop in the Wilson building on Fifth Street formerly used by the post office. He says the business will offer “anything from locomotives to safety pins.” It opens January 10 with a $250 cash prize for the best name. Post office fixtures have been removed and stored, owned by Jim P. Wilson.
