Beard sells Rancho Venado deer ranch in Culberson County
T A Beard announced the sale of his Culberson County Rancho Venado to the State Game and Fish Commission. The property lies 32 miles northwest of Van Horn in the Diablo Mountains at about 6000 feet. Beard has built a lodge and extensive improvements for hunting and recreation over 12 years, including a mountain road, house, a 600 foot well, windmill and water lines, with water and salt kept from the deer. No stock has been kept on the ranch since purchase.
