Big Bend Air Base Revival Urged for Marfa Alpine Area
A plea urges every community and civic group in the Big Bend Davis Mountains country to back a military or civilian activity at the Marfa Alpine air base. It argues the region’s ideal weather and space could host testing and training, reduce aviation accidents, save taxpayer money, and boost local economies through visitors to nearby parks towns and observatories. The writer notes Lyndon Johnson’s leadership and urges his support for a federal project in Brewster County.
