The Alpine city commission endorsed the Chamber of Commerce lighting project after a Tuesday night session. A modern system with 200 to 260 watt lamps will line College Avenue from Sul Ross to Lith Street and extend along College Avenue north to Fourth Street. The Central Power & Light Co will install and maintain the fixtures at no extra cost, with the city paying about 45 dollars monthly for about 25 lights under a 10 year contract.
