Three Brewster men to attend state screwworm meet
Three Brewster County men Joe T. Lane Ted Gray and B G Hill Jr will attend a state wide meeting in Austin on Wednesday February 14 to promote the screwworm control program. Trustees say a $3 million voluntary goal could keep screwworms out of Texas in 1962 saving up to $200 million in two years and halving eradication costs. Immediate action is urged as a freeze boosts the chance of a screwworm free Southwest.

Alpine High Boys Beat Marfa 41 36 in Marfa
Alpine High School defeated Marfa 41 to 36 last Friday night in Marfa marking Alpine’s first win in years. Joe Molinar led Alpine with 25 points while S Gonzales led Marfa with 10. Pete Hernandez and Joe Varencuela did strong work for Alpine. Marfa won the B game 48 to 42 with Bryan LaBeff scoring 11 for Alpine and Ramirez 15 for Marfa.
