Stovell To Head City Clerk Group In Texas district
John Stovell Alpine city clerk will head the National Institute of Municipal Clerks membership drive in the 1052 membership campaign for the Texas area. N L Teas states Stovell was chosen for his support of the institute and its goal to improve relations between city officials and the public. West Texas Utilities Union Fails To Win Bargaining Poll
West Texas Utilities workers failed to secure certification after ballots conducted December 19 and 26 by the National Labor Relations Board in San Angelo. Most challenged votes, largely by labor and company observers, could determine the election outcome. Attorney Tee Smith for the company noted many challenged ballots may be diesel plant operators in auxiliary service and emphasized employers’ democratic rights.
