Big Bend Oranges Brought From Pinto Canyon Ranch
A. F. Robinson of the chamber of commerce displayed oranges grown in Big Bend country Texas. The fruit comes from four trees at Harris Smith ranch in Pinto canyon near Lajitas Brewster and Presidio counties planted about fifteen years ago by J. L. Crawford. The editor has not tasted the fruit.

Mexican man killed after shooting by Caldero
In Brewster County a trial court investigated the shooting of Manuel Yanez a Mexican man who was wounded Friday when Francisco Caldero of Study Butte fired from a 43 caliber automatic pistol on the Terlingua road seven miles south of Alpine. Yanez died en route to Alpine. Caldero bonded to appear before the February grand jury was released, authorities said. Witnesses testified at a court of inquiry about the events and circumstances surrounding the shooting.
