County Sets 1995 Tax Rate at 86 Cents
Brewster county commissioners set the 1995 tax rate at 86 cents, same as 1994 after adding five cents for park bonds and other projects. Alpine Residence destroyed by fire in West Alpine
An oil stove explosion ignited a fire that completely consumed Mrs. J. D. May's home in West Alpine last Friday morning. Delays in firefighting allowed flames to engulf the residence and contents. Mrs. May suffered facial burns while rescuing her invalid daughter, Mrs. Bob Reed of Pampa, who was staying there. The lot was partially insured.
