Willie C Carruthers 22 of Haskell Texas fled from officers poised to arrest him at a dairy home on West College Avenue, then shot himself in the right breast with a .38 pistol. He died about 40 minutes later. Carruthers and his wife with a year-old child had moved to the area weeks earlier.
