Governor vetoes Cooke County road and cotton reporting bill
Austin Texas April 7 The governor vetoed Senate Bill 163 which would require cotton gin operators to report monthly ginned bale counts to the county judge and to the state. The veto cites a misalignment with the constitution and the bill’s title failing to clearly express its subject. Ed Martins throat cut incident in Henderson county is noted. Textile mill idleness continues for over 14 000 workers in six mills with no change expected.
