Graduation Plans For May Exercises At Local College
Seniors in the sub college began planning graduation exercises set for mid May. Horace Oliver the principal says the new library auditorium may host the event if it is furnished in time. About 30 graduates will receive caps and gowns and invitations will be ordered this week. Arrangements for the commencement speaker and the baccalaureate address are not yet set.

Easter Sunrise Services in Alpine Move to Town Site
Easter sunrise prayer services will be held in Alpine this Sunday starting at sunrise. The Inter-church committee said attendees should come early and be seated as the sun rises around six forty. In previous years the event was four miles away in a canyon, barring those without cars, so the venue was moved to the College Hill area. three well known songs will be sung.

Local Schools Inspected By State Education Official
Miss Cotham of the Texas Department of Education visited Alpine Monday and Tuesday inspecting Alpine Junior and Senior high schools and facilities. She praised administration and equipment and planned to report to Austin with recommendations. She also toured the Madern Central ward buildings and the Negro school south of the UP tracks, finding them in excellent shape. Superintendent Major expects her report next week detailing findings and recommendations.

Gravel Bar Ownership Settled by Supreme Court Ruling

Brave bull collie pup saves child from creek rescue
An unnamed five month old half collie half bull pup named Pup led Mrs. Greer to a creek where her two year old daughter was trapped in water. The smart dog waited at the bank as the mother lifted the child to safety. The grateful owners, the Greers of Kokernot Springs, adopted the dog and say he loves bacon and eggs.

The structure will be made convenient for auto drive in and a complete painting job will change the color from cream to white.
