The Marathon Texas opening celebration for the Gage Hotel drew 500 to 600 guests in four hours. Pioneer cattleman J. J. Edwards dies at home
J J Edwards a veteran cattleman of the West died at his Alpine Texas home after a year bedridden from a fall and paralysis. Born August 29 1866 near Fort Worth he spent his life in cattle operations across Arizona Indian Territory and Alpine. He married Mary Tackitt in 1885 and leaves wife two sons Cas and Jack both car salesmen in Alpine and sister Mrs Cynthia Sisk Fort Worth.
