Last Friday noon a large frame barn owned by Ed Curry, northeast of Alliance, burned with hay and cattle inside. A worker smoking in the barn likely started the fire, which quickly spread to the interior. Horses including a prized stallion were rescued after efforts. Curry suffered a total loss of hay, feed, calves, and farm implements though the barn was insured.
The Hallway Employes and Investors Association held its first annual entertainment at the Phelan opera house last Tuesday. The program featured speeches on railway worker unity and loyalty, demonstrations of physical culture, a four round spur ring exhibition, and ample music led by Mrs. J. T. Wiker. Performers included A J Nelson, E E Shields, Mrs J T Wiker, and several named vocalists and instrumentalists.

Her mourning father Geo H Daly and family gathered for the Episcopal funeral service conducted by Reverend Geo Ware.
