North Star Highway line-up is now assured

Morrill county commissioners met in Bridgeport and unanimously approved the North Star route through Morrill county as road No 1 to receive state aid and designated the G P C route as road No 2. They request State Engineer Johnson to assist in selecting the Angora to Alliance segment.

Rushville Man Dies After Car Collision Near Fair Grounds

Gordon Jacobs of Rushville died from injuries after a Ford he was in stopped near the fair grounds for a flat tire. A second car struck him from behind as he stepped out, and a third car from the front ran over him before he received aid. He died Wednesday at 10 AM.

Mrs Lucy Sowers Dies in Alliance at Sixty One

Mrs Lucy Sowers, sixty one, died at St Joseph hospital after cancer surgery. A Crawford Nebraska resident, she came to Nebraska thirty seven years ago from Virginia and had been in Alliance about two weeks. Body sent to Crawford with a son and daughter. Boys Capture a Live Porcupine at City Park

George and Alfred Sim captured a live porcupine at the city park this noon with ropes crates and other paraphernalia. A big crowd watched the effort as relatives helped and the animal was brought in unharmed. Mrs Margaret Weibling died in Alliance at 8 p m Wednesday at her sister Sera Lamberson s home in Alliance.

Potato Crop Report Sees Nebraska Loss In September
