Rotary entertains Alliance High School boys at Palm Room dinner

Alliance Rotary Club hosted fresh men and sophomores at a Palm Room Alliance Hotel dinner at 6:30 with 60 to 75 boys present. Rotarian Earl Mallory introduced Rev. Walter Rundin who urged continued schooling toward university degrees and outlined odds based on education. County Judge Delamatter and wife paused in Alliance during a five week trip, sister of Mrs. Ralls.

Youth Held for Fate Trial in District Court

James Glandon eighteen held to district court at the December term after a preliminary hearing on a theft charge. He allegedly stole a Ford automobile from Hemingford October 11 and attempted to dispose of a tire for two dollars with two men testifying to the crimes. Bond set at five hundred dollars. witnesses recognized in district court.

City Manager N A Kemmish releases a report for the first five months of the year showing expenses under the annual estimate. Police near the forecast, fire likely well below, and the general fund under two thirds of the estimate despite street grading work. If no surprises occur, the remainder of the year should show even greater savings.

Sheriff Reclaims Four Prisoners From Jail Visit

Thomas county Sheriff Nick Shriner arrived in Alliance on Wednesday and escorted four prisoners back to Thomas county. Two youths who confessed to robbing a Seneca store recently were among them, along with two colored men held on a vagrancy charge. Local officials say Seneca lacks law enforcement.

St Agnes Bazaar Set at Roof Garden for Academy Fund

St. Agnes Academy plans a three day bazaar at the Roof Garden on October 25 26 and 27 to raise funds for the academy building. Features include needlework from parish women alumnae and students, dinner each evening, dancing, and a coal prize with every admission ticket. Scottsbluff Seeks Alliance Road With Cooperation Promised

Scottsbluff chamber of commerce advances a plan to build a good road east to Alliance with Box Butte County Commission support. An organizing committee will map the route and seek cooperation, while Broadwater area work continues on grading the G-P-C highway and nearby sections with local aid.

County Judge Sees Record Low Marriage Licenses

County Judge Tash reports 78 applicants for marriage licenses with none approved by October 14. He notes every couple appeared in person on pdb 28 and laments this is the worst record since taking office.
