B T Kibble warned workers after a frightening dream that a man would be harmed before the threshing crew began work at Kibble's ranch. The next day Ray Trabert was injured in a threshing accident at Heath's, suffering a broken jaw in two places and facial lacerations needing about a dozen stitches.
A. Currie, succeeding T. H. Beeson, will assume charge of the Alliance telephone exchange of the Nebraska Telephone Company. Currie is now in the city and will remain there to start duties in Alliance on December first as Beeson moves to Norfolk.
The B Y P U plans a dime social at the Baptist church parlors Friday evening November 21 with a general invitation extended to all.
The Junior Play titled S College Town debuts this week at the school theater. Students from the drama club showcase a lighthearted campus tale with a student cast and director guidance.
Mexico City reports Congress including many deputies and senators agreeing on a plan after Huerta’s message. They intend to declare the recent election illegal elect a provisional president order a new election and adjourn. Pedro Lascurain is listed as likely successor and the United States had prior knowledge of the plan.

Dean George G. Ware of St. Matthews Episcopal Church returns with Mrs. Ware at noon after weeks away. The pair attended the Episcopal convention in New York City where Ware spoke at many stops. Mrs. Ware went ahead to Chicago. they traveled from Chicago with a stop at Mullen and were welcomed by friends at the depot.
Train No. 42 expected in Alliance at 12 30 pm arrived at 2 pm due to a car load of ties catching fire at Lakeside. The fire blocked the main line and the entire car was destroyed.
Box Butte county officials refused the Semi Weekly Times request to publish the delinquent tax list. The Herald was given a written order for the list while the Times printed the list in October with missing pages. Times bills were rejected. Chair man Reck defended his central school project and accused the Times of unwarranted attacks as they try to bully for favors. The commission moves ahead with delinquent tax notices to guide publication.

The Gatun locks form a three twin lock system that raises ships from the Atlantic to the elevated Gatun lake levels. Two and a half million cubic yards of concrete supported the locks in conjunction with the Gatun dam. The locks proved a key factor in the canal’s construction.
Joe Davis a discharged railroad switchman was arrested in the yards on a concealed weapons charge. He claimed the gun was for protection as two suspicious men followed him. Judge Zurn bound him over to district court in $600 bond. unable to post, he remained in the county jail.

The U S land office at Alliance urges correspondence be sent to the Register U S Land Office or to the register personally rather than to other officials. Judge W W Wood asks readers to address mail as Register U S Land Office or to him as registrar to ensure proper handling when officials are away.
Miss Korps of Mitchell was brought to Alliance Hospital today by Dr. Craig and operated on by Dr. Slagle.
