FIRST NATIONAL BANK of Alliance Nebraska advertises bank drafts at lower cost than United States postal money orders or express orders. The bank also sells drafts and travellers checks payable worldwide.
A lumber supplier urges homebuilders to build now despite talks of timber conservation. They claim lumber has fixed value and delaying a new home yields no benefit, offering to discuss savings and timing with prospects.
Various city news items include visits by Dr. Boland and L. M. Scott, the Lakeside auctioneer, and County Commissioner-elect Hash-Man. Local residents and merchants such as J. Bennett, J. Gray, R. L. Shettler, T. K. Evans, Steve Dolam, Wolf Freimuth, and J. Rock are mentioned with activities in Alliance. Yesterday marked a red letter day for Alliance Catholics as the new Holy Rosary Church was dedicated with services starting at 9:00 am. Father Haley of Lexington led mass, with support from Fathers Herne of Omaha and Galvin of Spaulding. Bishop Scantell preached, followed by a parish dinner, evening devotions, and a sermon by Father McGovern of Omaha on Christian faith. A large audience attended from within and outside Alliance, and a lengthy musical program featured many soloists and the full choir Nico. Special thanks go to Fr. McNamara for his tireless work on the project.
Afternoon and evening event features fancy work such as aprons kerchiefs and more. Food sale with jellies pickles fruits and vegetables. Baby contest with prizes at 4 pm. Young ladies offer homemade candies chalk almonds peanuts stuffed dates. Musical program at 6 pm followed by an oyster supper from 6 to 7 pm. Admittance free to support the ladies.
A special meeting of Camp 749 M. W. A. convened by the Venerable Consul for November 24, 1911 is urged. Members are urged to attend for important business. Signed by F. W. Carlson and P. E. Buckle, Committee.
Mrs. Thornton wife of Dr A H Thornton formerly of this place died about ten days ago in Hot Springs from typhoid fever. The notice appears among local items in the Herald.
