Smash Between Trains At Girard Delays Traffic Six Hours
Near Girard passenger train No 42 collided with unlighted freight cars from No 46 on the main line. The slow speed and quick brakes by Engineer Meyers prevented loss of life as three loaded coal cars piled up. no blame assigned, spur required to separate engines and cars.
