George Stanton dies after liver trouble in Alliance

George Stanton purchasing agent for the Newberry Hardware Company died at 7 45 AM Wednesday after three weeks of illness. He leaves a wife and two daughters Ruth and Dorothy. Funeral at 10 AM Friday from his home 719 Big Horn Avenue with Rev W M Seel and Dean Ware officiating.

Governor Morehead Tours Alliance Visit

Governor Morehead arrived in Alliance with W. S. Ridgell state fire commissioner and attended Friday races at the fair grounds. He joined a city hall smoker hosted by the fire department with speakers including Ridgell Mayor A. D. Rodgers and Chief P. E. Romig.

Governor Morehead Visits Alliance for T P A Dance

Governor Morehead and Alliance businessmen toured the fair grounds in an Irwin Brothers stage coach and attended a T P A dance at Gadsby hall. He praised the entertainment as the best ever and received an immense round of applause.

Parade Honors Travelers' Protective Association Members

A Saturday morning parade featured forty traveling men in white trousers blue coats and caps led by governor Morehead Judge Ridgell Editor John W. Thomas and Jack Hawes. The four year old son of Si Thompson drew applause carrying a small suitcase as the post photographed in front of city hall. Governor Morehead received honorary membership with a brief speech. Prizes went to Harper’s department store first and Ellis Ray second for floats, with Newberry Hardware winning most representative, Vern and Gene Laing most comic and Arthur Lunn most unique.

Taking Long European Trip by F. E. Holsten Family

Mr. and Mrs. F. E. Holsten and daughter Della depart for a summer European trip starting in New York. They sail on the Imperator to Paris and travel through France, Holland, Germany, with time in Stockholm. They will stay at addresses in Sweden and London, then return via New York and Chicago to buy Christmas stock.

Chautauqua Opens Strong As Alliance Club Event

The Alliance Woman's Club Chautauqua drew crowds with a Tuesday concert by the All Brothers Quartet and an evening lecture by Dr. Cyrus S. Nusbaum on The Glory of Life. The second day featured a Browne-Enlowe Company musical prelud e and an inspirational talk by Stewart I. Long, thrilling attendees.

Great Nebraska Stock Growers Convention Highlights

The nineteenth annual Nebraska Stock Growers Association convention in Alliance featured record attendance, a Day lecture on blackleg vaccines, and a reappointed Alliance Herald as official organ. Officers were elected including President Robert Graham and Secretary-Treasurer Charles Jamesson. future issues will include doubled membership proposals and the continued Who's Who Among Nebraska Stockmen.
