Many Business Men Favor a Franchise For Bell Company
The Herald found business men and property owners favor granting a franchise to Northwestern Bell Telephone for Alliance. They argue a fair franchise avoids public utility robbery label, ensures needed improvements, and allows rate regulation by the state railway commission to stay fair. Supporters say delay jeopardizes service and nearby towns benefit from cooperation and reasonable terms. Buy your sun bonnets at the Baptist Indies sale Saturday at Hirst's store. 60
