The Herald announces a Grand Special Prize of a fifty five dollar graphophone to be awarded during a four week contest from June 9 to July 6 1910. Open to all ladies new or current candidates with voting bonuses weekly. Cash alternative available via new subscriptions.
Standing of contestants for The Herald Piano shows entries from Alliance Canton Hemingford and other towns with scores listed next to each name. Notable participants include Attie Snow Ella Moravek Gladys Boon Nell Acheson Alma Ravenberger Jessie Geiger Anna Dainton Theresa Morgan Jennie Sandoz Mrs Mary A Morrow and Mrs Emmat O Bannon.
Mrs Nettie E Taylor born June 12 1864 Jamestown New York died June 6 1910 at her home in Guernsey Wyoming. She married DeWitt C Taylor August 31 1878. After months of poor health and a stomach cancer operation in January she passed away. Funeral from the M E church Alliance with Rev J L Vallow sermon. Rebecca Lodge conducted services. Interment Greenwood cemetery. Eagles donated two pillars of flowers.
Mrs Taylor, widow of a loving husband, mourns his loss. An aged mother of ten children in Jamestown, N Y, is bereaved as the last of her offspring passes. The community offers heartfelt sympathy to the remaining relatives in their sad bereavement.
Box Butte county commissioners meet as a board of equalization at Alliance courthouse on Tuesday June 14 1910 and continue session until all business for the year is completed. W C Mounts county clerk.
The Moly Rosary Catholic Church issues service times with Sunday Masses at 7:00 and 9:30 a.m. on regular weeks and 7:00 and 10:30 a.m. on the third Sunday each month. Evening service is held every Sunday at 7:30 p.m. Rev. W. L. McNamara is the pastor.
At 11 00 a m the sacrament of baptism will be administered to infants and a discussion of Infant Baptism will follow. All who have infants whom they wish baptized are invited to present them at this service. Usual evening service at 8 00 p m Epworth League at 7 00 o'clock.
The morning sermon centers on the Unprofitable Servant while the evening message aims at Eternal Life. The pastor notes the unusual number of local deaths inspires the topics and reflection for the day.
Morning topic titled The Mystery of Godliness will be discussed. Evening service sermon will cover God not pleased with the death of the wicked.

A June 14 musicale at Phelan Opera House features Mrs J G Rousseau as vocal soloist Ralph Thomas as reader Herbert Nelson as cellist and Miss Swan at the piano. The program includes solos duets and costume numbers with admission 50 cents adults 35 cents children.

In connection with Mercy Hospital the Sisters of Mercy run a Training School for Nurses. Wanted young ladies to enter the Training School of Mercy Hospital at Alliance. Apply to Sister Superior.
The maximum course load is four full subjects and two drill subjects. Drill subjects include drawing and penmanship and other in recitation period. They are printed in small caps. The number shown denotes the room for the class. Attendance of at least 30 days is required for Junior Normal credit.
A condensed week plan lists class adjustments for Monday to Wednesday with 2:40 to 4:00 sessions led by Miss Myrtle Kauffman and Junior Normal classes shortened by ten minutes on Thursday and Friday. Prof. Fulmer chairs sessions on School Sanitation Hygiene School Management and Methods with Domestic Science by Mica Panton and a Thursday evening lecture on Environment and Education.
