The County Board of Commissioners of Nebr. met July 4 1909. They audited claims for the poor farm and road fund and ordered warrants drawn on the general fund. Airship Falls Into Channel During Channel Crossing
French aviator Herbert Latham attempting a Calais to Dover flight had covered about sixteen miles at high altitude when the motor failed and the craft plunged into the water. The French torpedo boat destroyer Harpon rescued Latham and his mono plane.

Arraigned on Murder Charge in Port Huron
Samuel Frisble of Cleveland was arraigned on a murder charge for the killing of Louis Rosenberg near the St. Clair flats. Frisbie declined to plead, Justice Benedict entered not guilty, and bail was denied. Frisbie admitted being present and accused Frank Elbera, who died by suicide, of the crime.

Lions Chase Roosevelt Aide in British East Africa
