Bound Over for Trial in Hemingford Robbery Case
Alva Moon and Thomas Rogers were bound over for trial in the district court this fall after a preliminary hearing in Alliance. They faced charges of robbing the Olds drug store at Hemingford for jewelry valued over 500 dollars. Both men pleaded not guilty and were held on $1,000 bonds each. Sheriff Cal Cox and Chief Ovide Vine were credited for the rapid roundup and cross‑state cooperation that led to the arrest in Council Bluffs.

New Street Lighting Approved for Alliance Town
City council authorized Superintendent Hughes to install a complete new street lighting system using the series Mazda setup at about $2000. Illumination will replace 81 small pole lights with 100 candle power fixtures at each intersection, starting when material arrives.
