J W Guthrie traveled to Minitare while others from Hemingford visited Alliance. Dozens of residents and visitors are noted with travels, illnesses, farm work, and social events including a lawn social at the M E church and a 500 card party. A missing wallet case and Elks visit are also mentioned amid weather and church notices.
Examinations will be held next Friday and Saturday with certificates issued from junior normal grades. Graduating exercises for the junior normal program occur Friday evening July 17 at the Phelan Opera House, free to the public with season-ticket seating until 8 15. Prof Philpot traveled from his farm near Minatare to Bridgeport by car, a 38 mile trip, to attend classes Monday after a rainy Sunday.
Alliance Neb June 19 1908 officials convene as Board of Equalization. Present are Chairman J P Jensen J M Wanek C Beck E P Sweeney Assessor W C Mounty and county clerk. Proceedings note hearings and adjustments with daily adjournments from June 12 to June 15 1908 at 9 o clock to reconvene as Board of Commissioners.
