A strong crowd attended the Ladies of the Macabees dance at the K C hall last Monday evening. The event featured a fishing pond attraction inside the hall which was well patronized and generated a good sum for the order.

Catholic Church Burns In Unknown Origin Fire
Fire destroyed a Catholic church located near the Drake hotel after a Sunday morning blaze. Cold weather hampered efforts as the roof collapsed, a 1500 pound bell was saved, and total losses reached about 2500 with building and furniture valued at 6500 and insurance at 4000. Cause undetermined, with theories ranging from furnace fire to crosswires.

Veterans elect officers and plan May banquet
A meeting of the Spanish American War Veterans was held in their hall last week and officers were elected for the coming year. The annual banquet is set for the first Tuesday in May with preparations underway. A special mess call is issued for the first Tuesday in March at eight in the evening in the hall over King's place.
