The ladies auxiliary of the Brotherhood of Railway Trainsmen invites enjoyment at Zbinden's hall on Thursday evening February 23 for a Kaliko Baw. Attendees are urged to bring a bolt of calico to tailor outfits for the event described as the season's event. E C McClure hosted about forty guests at the W D Rumner residence Friday night for a progressive high five party. First prizes went to Miss Alice Regan and Mr H F Thiel. consolation prizes to Miss McDermott and George Brown. An elegant luncheon followed with Mrs Romer presiding.

Uncle Zed Goodwin heads to California for health and rest
Feeble health and a harsh Nebraska winter prompt Uncle Zed Goodwin to leave Monday for California to spend the winter rest of his days. Alliance bowlers traveled to Denver for a contest to select national participants with LaCourt Denver leading at 2966 pins. A Denver Democratic team had 2900. A local youth tested a soot removal method by tossing a water salt bottle onto hot coals, causing an explosion that drenched the night clerk and created chaotic scenes.

Two Robbers Caught After Janesville Saloon Breakin
A sheriff reports two men facing charges after serial thefts in Janesville. Sanford Smith broke into Eph Corneal's saloon stealing whisky and was found intoxicated. William Johnson admitted thefts at Beckwith & Breeses clothing store and awaits District Judge Westover. Both pleaded guilty in Judge Spacht's court and face possible prison terms. An ensuing sled accident during a birthday party for Brother Beach marred the night but did not cause serious injuries.

No Trains Delayed Two Days in Severe Winter
Passenger train No 41 was delayed by snow drifts and high winds causing a two day disruption. A Burlington west bound from Chicago ran off the track near Cres ton Iowa, killing Engineer Doc Miller and injuring other crew. Railroading across Nebraska and the Guernsey branch faced similar conditions with crews resigning in frustration.

At one o clock today Mrs. John O Keefe died at the family home on North Box Butte Avenue after a long illness. She was born in Ireland and came to the county nineteen years ago. Funeral from the Catholic church next Sunday at 10:30 led by Rev C J Coerr illness. Deceased leaves a well known family and was highly esteemed in this section.

Snowbound Train Delayed 30 Hours After Fierce Nebraska Storm
No. 41 left Alliance Saturday three hours late and battled raw cold as a blizzard piled snow along the line. Near Waco a big drift trapped the train for hours, shoveling crews and 25 laborers cleared the tracks by Sunday evening. Passengers included Mrs. Ames Whitman and editor E T Westervelt of Scottsbluff Republican.

Mrs. F Gaylord died this morning at her son in law Roy Randall’s home following a paralytic stroke. She lived in Chadron and had been visiting here for a month. Her husband arrived from Chadron to take the body home for burial. A son was born to Mr and Mrs C C Barker this morning February 16 1905.
