Property Owners Object to Closing Big Horn Avenue

A remonstrance circulating in Alliance protests closing Big Horn avenue between D and Eighth and Twelfth streets north of those blocks. Candle Service At Methodist Church Sunday Evening

There will be a New Year candle light service at the Methodist church Sunday night at 7. The opening service will be followed by darkness except for a single light as twelve girls representing the months carry candles and light from the lone flame while the minister explains the new year. Agate Nebraska oil well abandoned after failure

A Hemingford dispatch reports the Agate oil well in Nebraska proved a failure and is being abandoned. About 2300 feet saw a light oil flow with no commercial value after reaching around 4700 feet. The wigglestick operator sparked high hopes but assessments say no oil at Agate.

Alliance residents read a Denver Post ad tale as Dewey L. Russell of Green River claimed he taught a wife. The girl denies any serious intent and says she answered for fun.
