Will Trabert aged twenty two son of Mr and Mrs F A Trabert of Alliance died December 3 after five days with Spanish influenza. He was a Burlington employee and active in Alliance Volunteer Fire Department I O O F and Encampment. Survived by parents four brothers two sisters with funeral at home and burial in Greenlawn Cemetery.

The Alliance Boy Scouts completed tenderfoot exams and began second class tests for Ivan Wong Paul Carter Tom Miller and Jack Marks. Tom Miller was elected secretary Treasurer and Ivan Wong Scout Scribe with Jack Marks as assistant. A high school basketball team will be organized Friday under Messrs Hamilton and Fisher. All scouts urged to attend.

Potash Plant Sold For 100000 In Western Nebraska
J T Burns sold the small Joy ranch potash plant north of Antioch and east of Alliance to the Omaha Potash Refining Co for 100000 cash. The deal includes potash rights on all lakes on the Joy ranch and the plant has a 10 ton daily capacity. Burns cites poor health and plans to winter south. foreman died of influenza.

Omaha group breaks ground on Lakeside potash plant
The Omaha Potash & Refining Company led by Everett Buckingham and Frank May broke ground Monday for a 600000 dollar potash plant on Webster ranch south of Lakeside, about twenty miles away. The 100 ton per day facility will mirror the successful Alliance plant. D E C Jones oversees construction. The firm also buys a smaller Joy ranch plant to operate as a separate unit.

Will Herman Killed in Action in France
Will Herman aged 23 and nine months, son of Mr. and Mrs. I. W. Herman of Alliance, was killed in France on November 4 according to a War Department message received Wednesday. He left for Camp Funston March 5 and had previously sent letters from the front. Survived by three brothers John Jake and George and three sisters Hazel and Mrs. J M Skala and Mrs Boyd Gamble. Memorial services set for 1:30 Sunday at the Imperis' theatre.
