Man Injured as Burlington Freight Wrecks Near Mansfield
Reed Misemer of Gentryville Missouri is seriously injured after Burlington freight No. 109 derailed by a broken rail near Mansfield twenty miles west of Crawford at 5 30 am Monday. Seventeen cars derailed including five loaded with merchandise and corn. eight car lengths of track torn up. Misemer was taken to Edgemont Hospital. Wreck injured hoboes aiding transport. passenger trains Nos 43 44 were delayed until track cleared by the wrecking crew led by Engineer Joe Bogan and Conductor M E Lander.

Urban Zediker Returns to County Jail Ahead of New Trial

Reports from Alliance indicate a larger or similar potato crop for 1929 in western Nebraska with increased acreage in Box Butte and Sheridan counties. Dry-land areas in Kimball face the worst drought effects, while early fields near Rushville and Gordon show mature crops and growth cracks from hot, moist conditions. Shipments to August 27 total 72 cars from western Nebraska, with statewide 690 cars including central Nebraska. prices ranged from 1.05 to 1.76 per cwt earlier in August.

Police notified after a purse containing $30 was reported stolen from the home of John Henneberry at 920 Cheyenne. Mrs. Henneberry and a friend arrived on the late train. her purse was left in a corner and later disappeared. A second purse on the same bureau was untouched. no clues have been found.
