Nebraska mills rely on potash largely from Birmingham and southeastern centers for citrous fruits foods and tobacco. A federal tax on long distance transport could cripple the potash market and harm the states big industry. Trout Stock Placed in Local Streams by Volunteers
A consignment of baby rainbow trout arrived from government fisheries at Spearfish and was distributed by volunteers to Niobrara River north of Alliance Kilpatrick Lake and Shers Creek Sher dan County. Helpers included E G Laing Ray Stansbury John Wiker Roy Beckwith and George Darling. A future shipment is hoped for next year to further stock nearby streams.

Pioneer Potash Company Organized
The Pioneer Potash company with a capital of $100,000 is organized to operate potash lakes on the Wilson ranch north of Antioch. A ten ton reduction plant will be built on the current site to process brine from three lakes, nineteen, twenty, and three acres in size, with brine running at twelve degrees Beaume. The small plant will continue until the new facility starts. Officers are J. B. Wilson president, Homer M. Wilson vice president, Jease W. Wilson treasurer, B. Olson secretary and manager.
