Death of Burlington foreman Timothy Flannigan
Burlington section foreman Timothy Flannigan of Lakeside died Friday evening from overheating after an attack. He died within an hour of the incident with no relatives present. Survived by two sons in Colorado. one son came Tuesday to take the body to Colorado for burial. Body brought to Darling undertaking parlors Saturday morning then sent to Colorado. W. M. Robinson of Omaha and manager of National Music Supply Company visited his half section farm west of town. He brought a six foot seven inch corn stalk and touted eighteen acres of fine corn along with a top field of winter wheat. In Alliance his company branch sells Kurtzman pianos Victor and National Walking machines. A new National machine that plays any record has impressed store staff and a large piano production push is planned for the coming season.

Robbery chase ends with capture near Sunol
Eyewitness recounts a bold daytime robbery with a gunfight on a west rise near town. Ed and Paul Vacek fired, a car theft and pursuit followed, with Lukens and Cornell identified, chased, and captured after evidence buried in a cornfield and under a tree. John DeBrunner aided the chase.
