Colored Man Seeks Pardon From State Board
County attorney reports that George Fields colored has applied for a pardon before the Nebraska board of pardons and paroles. Fields, sentenced May 25 1918 in Box Butte county for attempted rape of a colored girl, faces a hearing January 9 1922. He has served four years of a two to fifteen year term.

Officers Raid Ranch West of Alliance Fails to Find Evidence
Police from county and city teams raided the Stevenson ranch twenty seven miles west of Alliance on the road to Scottsbluff seeking moonshine liquor. They found many bottles and chopped potatoes but no still or tangible evidence. The warrant named Mrs Anna Kula and her family. the daughter threatened the officers but calm was restored and the search ended without results.

Monday sale at Alliance courthouse offered the one half share of John H. Krause estate lands. Herman J. Krause bid $4 per acre, valuing the tract at $8 per acre, most of which lies about twenty miles northeast of Alliance. A Morrill county sale last week saw a larger tract go for $6.50 per acre.
