A Lincoln Alliance Easter service at St Matthew's Episcopal Church featured green and white church decorations Easter lilies white carnations and hyacinths. Rev. Geo G Ware led the service with a vested choir of about twenty five to thirty members and a collection totaled roughly 331 dollars.
Alliance Nebraska based Herald Publishing Company lists a large stock of legal blanks including agreements for building and warranty deeds mortgage releases and subpoenas. The notice invites requests for any additional blanks and offers supply in any quantity.
Former employee of Geo LD Darling continues to offer funeral director and embalmer services to friends. Contact Allen H Morris at phone 179 LT 196 01 70848 for arrangements.
The Box Butte county annual industrial school contest for boys and girls will be held in Hemingford on Saturday April 13 1912. Prizes will be awarded for school work manual training crop raising and domestic science with special prizes for country schools. Exhibits open to the public all day and a program at 2 30 p m. Many will travel from Alliance on the 8 00 a m local freight and may return later.
After the city election a Alliance man handed voters a card arguing saloons are needed for business. One side asked if the saloon is necessary and the other asked what has it done for you. A police magistrate later displayed a card with answers: Yes to necessity and paid fines as the response.
On Saturday April 6 death occurred of Mrs Olea Johnson longtime Box Butte County settler. She was 76 years 6 months old born in Norway and married Johannas Johnnat. Six children were born five living. The family came from the old country 26 years ago settling near Hemingford. Husband died four years ago. She had lived with son Themler six miles east of Hemingford for 12 years. One son and one daughter attended the funeral held at Hemingford cemetery. The Herald offers heartfelt sympathy.
Theodore Johnson expresses gratitude to Hemingford and nearby residents for kindness during his mother's illness and death and for expressions of sympathy.
President J. W. Hayes of Peru State Normal spent Sunday in Alliance greeting friends and reporting favorable conditions in Peru school work.
In Illinois primary Champ Clark led the Democratic race by about 140,000 over Woodrow Wilson with Harmon barely reported. In the Republican contest Theodore Roosevelt led by more than 100,000, Taft second and La Follette third.
An Alliance tabernacle revival notes expenses and funding. A guaranteed fund covers non evangelist costs such as fuel janitor and railroad fares while Rev Oscar Lowry receives no salary from it. Half of the musical director’s pay is funded by Lowry and half by donors. Running costs have risen, and a free will offering on the last Sabbath supports the evangelist.
The forecast from Alliance Nebraska on April 11 1922 calls for unsettled conditions with local showers tonight or Friday. Temperatures will warm tonight.
A panic at a concert hall in France in April left seven women and children dead and fifteen injured. Authorities say chaos followed fears of danger as people crowded doors and exits, with many sustaining fatal and nonfatal injuries.
Eight professors and students from Laibach University were killed during a mountain tour near Innreack in Austria after an avalanche overwhelmed their party. The tragedy marks a fatal alpine accident involving university personnel.

Winter wheat starts well and promises a good season. Rev. W. H. Prescott of Lincoln, sénior member of the Prescott Music Co., travels to Alliance and Scottsbluff on business and mentions his local connections.
Misa Winnie Spacht traveled to Lincoln last Saturday for a short vacation with her brother Roy a state university student and a group of friends in the capital city. She visited Eva Res and Hause Howman who are both at University Place and she returned Monday.
Hon Joby E Strasburger visited Alliance to meet J i Cox who arrived from Alabama via Kansas City. After deliberation Cox chose to homestead a Sheridan county tract and filed a Kinkaid claim with Strasburger help.
