Nebraska House Favors Peace and Opposes War

Omaha and Alliance urged to enlist as war grows

Telegram from Waddell of the U S Navy calls for forty thousand navy volunteers nationwide, Nebraska to supply two thousand men. Meetings planned April 11 12 for examinations, urging enlistment ages seventeen to thirty with parental attendance. Senate votes 82 to 6 to declare war on Germany and authorize defense funding and manpower build up in coming months.
