Rodgers Re elected Mayor On Two To One Vote Victory
Former mayor Mr. D. Rodgers wins a two to one majority to lead the city again. He supports paving, city manager plans, and efficient government. Grace Kennedy named city clerk, H A Johnson new third ward councilman, Fred Harris elected in fourth ward, J E Hughes in first ward, George Hills re elected in second ward, and Frank Abegg retained as city treasurer.

Doris Grace Miller born November 13 1904 in Alliance died March 31 1919 at age 14. She was a twin, loved by classmates and teachers, and would have graduated eighth grade this spring. Funeral held at home April 2 at 2 p.m. conducted by Rev A J Kearns. Interment Greenwood Cemetery.

The F. F. Schwenson residence on Emerson Street was broken into Sunday night by two unmasked thieves. The couple surprised them, forcing Mr. Schwenson into a closet at gunpoint as they fled. A gold watch belonging to a son who died in service was stolen. Mrs. Schwenson hopes for its return.

Mechanic Severely Injured in Derrik Fall at Garage
Lee Smith a mechanic at Sturgeon Brothers garage across from City Hall suffered a broken arm and leg Wednesday at noon when a derrick slip sent him to the cement. He was fixing a hoist when he climbed the derrick to fasten it to the rafters. He was taken home for care and is expected to be unable to work for several weeks.
