The Porpoise and Tortoise in a Droll Salad Tale
A whimsical fable recalls a porpoise and a tortoise ending in a lobster salad. The dialogue mocks starch use for laundry and touts Defiance Starch for strength and thin application causing less fabric paste. A Small Boy challenges a teacher in a comic exchange about knowledge.
Transcontinental fares and travel routes advertised in city notices
The ad list promotes Chicago to New York and Atlantic City round trips with prices 25.50 and 25.70, plus a Grand Trunk Lehigh Valley route and daily tickets until September 80th. It cites liberal stopovers, travel agent contacts in Chicago, and brief notices about extortion threats, a consumer testimonial for Allen's Foot-Ease, and a Wrigley’s Spearmint endorsement with a note on Britain’s horse supply for war.
