Notices posted by the secretary should guide participation. Warrants 17-18-19 of Drain 126 and drains 111 and 184 are called for payment. interest stops March 26, 1917.

Doing Well in Canada Algona Visitors Meet David Fouby
Algonians welcomed long time resident David Fouby who, born in the county, built a marble cutting career in Algona and Dubuque before moving to Canada twelve years ago to oversee 1120 acres of land. He and wife Mrs. Touhy and six children planned visits to Dubuque and Des Moines after a Saskatoon river home near Maymont. Fouby keeps 300 cultivated acres, a cattle herd of 150 and 30 horses, and crops raised eleven times with stable yields. potatoes recently sold for about a dollar a bushel after earlier 25 cents. His brothers near Portal have moved to Montana.

Death of E L Mantor at Cherokee capital

Surprise 86th anniversary party at Henry and Zeimer homes
Local Happenings reports a surprise party on Web 20 at the Henry 4eimet home in St. Jove for the 86th wedding anniversary. Guests from Matt Yeimet’s home arrived in a motor crowd, shared a large dinner, and presented a combination book case and other gifts. Henry and Mrs Zeimer have nine children and five grandchildren. Attorney E. J. Van Ness sold a quarter section farm in Portland township for $82 to Geo. F. Nelson of Gold Field, who plans dairying near a top creamery. Nelson and Van Ness are congratulated. The W. L. A. 8. annual musical is set for Friday March 2 with piano pieces by Ms. Simmons and Ms. Olinger, plus Meditation by Freynley Nicoulin.
