In the District Court of Kosssuth County Iowa John Leigh files a petition to quiet title to the southeast quarter of section eight township ninety four range twenty eight west of the fifth meridian unknown claimants and all defendants are notified that unless they appear by the September 1906 term default will be entered. The action asserts Leigh’s absolute ownership derived under a United States patent dated August 14 1850 and recorded in Kosssuth County and seeks relief to bar all claims adverse to Leigh. Sullivan and McManamon attorneys represent the plaintiff.

Public Outcry as Woman Brought to Smithfield for Sale
A decently dressed woman was paraded to sale at Smithfield but bidders brutal conduct led her supposed husband to refuse the sale. A riot and confusion followed, bringing police disgrace. An ad for money loan at 5 percent appears from A. D. Charnes & Co.
