Angora Goats at Humboldt Raise Hardy Herds
Hime Bellows, a wealthy farmer eight miles east of Humboldt, entered the Angora goat trade with eighty goats and sixty kids imported from Southern California. Experienced in Angoras, Bellows built a warm shed for the animals, but they endured the northern Iowa climate atop wind and cold, proving hardy and prolific in breeding.
