Atlantic fleet maneuvers near Provincetown end in draw
The Atlantic battle fleet staged a two squadron clash off Provincetown Massachusetts from July 7 to August 5 in a staged naval exercise. Connecticut led one division as torpedo boats darted and submarines attacked, while night firing and wireless torpedo shots tested new gear. Taft and Meyer witnessed drills, and several ships returned to Virginia for target practice before repairs.
