County Board Proceedings Ledger 1916 Drain Repairs

Boys Acre Corn Contest in Kossuth County
About 100 boys are enrolled in the Acre Corn Contest in Kossuth county with first prize a trip to the Short Course at Ames next winter. The second prize likely similar. County leaders may accompany the group to Ames. Interested boys should contact county leader Supt. Shirley for enrollment. A rag doll corn tester is sent to each enrolled boy to guide seed testing. Enrollees in each township will be guided by township leaders for further instruction.
