Marshalltown, Iowa reports a robbery at a local residence on Northwood Street. The intruder alleged to have opened a safe was shot during the break in and captured. Authorities say the suspect will likely die from injuries.
Des Moines Iowa February 16 Deputy Rethif Charles Temple attached all automobiles of a writ this morning and, attempting to drive one to the courthouse, pulled a lever and sent the car backward into a telephone pole wrecking it. The machine was valued at 1606 dollars.
Marshalltown baseball team in the Iowa state league has been sold. Beldher FT and "Snapper" Kennedy of Cadar Feaplda completed the purchase on February 1, securing control of the club.
In Mason City Iowa Pretty Nellie Wood became violently insane last night as neighbors were helped by police to restrain her ravings. Authorities believe the outburst stems from her lover turning her down.

Secretary Taft will speak at the Iowa University commencement in Iowa City following an invitation from President McLean.
Des Moines February 1 The senate approved a concurrent resolution for a recess from February 5 to March 6. A bill to raise Iowa City laboratory funding to six thousand dollars annually was reported. Debate on the White railroad demurrage bill centered on car supply and possible rebates, with no action taken yet.

Des Moines Feb 18 The Iowa Supreme Court in the Givardd case Fannebecker vs Tannebecker holds that infidelity charges by a wife against her husband do not constitute cruelty as when charged by the husband against the wife. It reverses the lower court, says the husband must endure jealous spite and eccentric marriage rather than seek remedy.
Two Iowa men and two former residents plus another man were injured when northbound No 1 collided with a runaway coal car from Empire mines on the Iowa Central near Bartlett Iowa. Injured are W J Allen Marshalltown brake man Roy Desarta Mason City mail clerk Charles Fogg engineer Herman Giese baggageman Peoria formerly of Marshalltown and Cas Peterson fireman Monmouth Illinois. Fogg and Peterson badly hurt are in Pearla hospital.
Lizzie Kap et al daughter of a prominent resident of Dawson burned to death while attempting to save younger children from a house explosion caused by a lamp incident. The fire followed the family leaving for the evening, and the girl endured terrible agony before death.

Thomas R Wallace located the meteor and informed George Barber, renewing efforts to place the rock with the Iowa Historical Society or the state university.
