Chicago June 7 Colonel William F Stone appeals to Mayor Harrison for police protection at tomorrow’s Republican National Committee contest hearings at the coliseum. Reports say Roosevelt leaders may stage demonstrations to intimidate members while other officials pledge orderly proceedings and restraint.
Senate resumed debate on the sundry civil appropriation and considered the naval appropriation for two battleships. Williams proposed a flood control plan for the Mississippi. Trinided Colorado June report says Ethel Doyle, claiming to be the wife of butcher C. R. Mohr, shot him in a local hotel after traveling from Colorado Springs. Mohr, wounded in the groin, had separated from Doyle, who admitted plans to kill him upon arrival and said they married August 9, 1911.
