The report states Maduo urges Chairman Kitchin to finance ongoing conflict by raising taxes. He recommends that one third of the estimated funds be drawn from heavier taxation.
Washington secretary McAdoo urged a tax plan to raise about 8 billion dollars in 1919 through taxation. He proposed a real war profits tax, higher normal taxes on earned and unearned incomes, and heavy levies on luxuries to reach actual war profits amid postwar funding needs.
Denver forecast predicts varying showers with thunderstorms in New Mexico from Priday to the south and west. Friday will be partly cloudy with a chance of afternoon thunder showers in the southern portion.

Geneva dispatch reports Dr Bernhard Dernburg former secretary of colonies in the German cabinet writes in the Vienna Neue Freie Presse asserting Germany must secure total commercial and maritime liberty and access to raw materials for postwar world supply He adds at the peace conference Germany should demand these gains and, if needed, compel them by force.
Atlantic Port June 6 An American schooner captain reports sighting a German submarine supply ship masquerading as a neutral trader off the Virginia capes on May 25. The vessel approached closely to the Joel Cook, but no flags or markings were seen and it vanished after a brief encounter.
An American machine gun battalion held a bridge at Chateau Thierry and killed about 1,000 Germans while suffering one killed and a few wounded. French troops also wiped out 300 Germans on the southern bank of the Marne as fighting raged for days with Americans using windows and doorways for machine guns.
News from San Antonio reports Major Wherne Duell, assigned to command at Taliaferro field Fort Worth, fell in an airplane near Fort Worth during a transfer flight. Condition unknown. An investigation flight was dispatched from Kelly Field to Austin. Major Duell's companion was Sergeant Meonte.
Dr. Muehlen states Germany acted with full accord from the Dual Monarchy in the ultimatum sent to Serbia as Raider Wilhelm is blamed for starting the war.

The British steamer Harpathian was torpedoed and sunk about sixty miles off the Virginia capes. Captain Owen and the crew were landed at port after twenty six hours in small boats. Henryetta Oklahoma June 6 reports say an uprising near Old Hickory Creek was a pow wow among Creek Indians rather than an armed clash. Lieutenant Wise of the Henryetta home guards dismissed claims of three whites being killed and noted shots reported were minimal.
