June 10 1886 Albion news reports no vacant business rooms in the town. Wilbur Marks of Garrett visited Sunday. John B Pepple made a business trip to Elkhart. H G Zimmerman plans to move to Dakota after court term. Marshal Parks impounds many cattle nightly. Myron Calbeck drowns at Skinner lake with body recovered after four to five hours. Cistern digging reveals an old culvert three feet below surface indicating heavy street filling.
The eighteenth annual County Commencement at Albion drew a large crowd despite afternoon rain that dampened events. Prof. George H. Tapy of Wabash College spoke, Cromwell band played, and a sports recap listed winners such as Nowels Rome City 10.5 seconds and Gatwood Albion 17 feet in broad jump. Albion led with 28 points, followed by Ligonier 18, Rome City 13, and Wawaka 4.
A health tip notes that eating too fast causes indigestion and constipation and can lead to serious illness if uncorrected. It urges thorough chewing and insalivation then suggests Chamberlain's Tablets for relief after meals, claiming many stomach troubles have been cured. sold by M. C. Beck.

Charles M. Cadieux 83, descendant of Grosse Pointe settlers, died at his daughter's home in Grosse Pointe village. Survived by seven children, funeral at Mrs. Renaud’s Notre Dame Street home with St. Paul’s Church rites and interment in Grosse Pointe Cemetery. Also notes F D Walters purchasing Gem theatre and renaming it Mystic theatre with renovations at Monroeville connections.
