He is highly recommended by DePauw University faculty, from which he graduated. The teaching staff is expected to stay mostly the same except for music, drawing, and domestic science positions not yet filled.

Rev Gaff Stricken After Rededication Service

The Lutheran church held a rededication with Rev. Gaff before falling ill from heart trouble an hour earlier and remaining confined at the Avery Yeager home. Rev Bowen assisted, a five piece silver communion set was placed on the altar, and Judge Wrigley spoke at night to a fair audience. Rev Gaff was brought home by J M Moore and is improving.

Humke family moves to South Whitley residence

Prof H L Humke and family moved to a new home in South Whitley last week. Mrs Humke and the baby went Wednesday, with Mr Humke packing and shipping goods and handling affairs until Friday. Locals in Albion lament the departure but wish them success. Humke is noted as a live wire in school and the South Whitley schools gain his services. Beck's adds a paper ad praising the shown paper.

Grand Albion Reunion and Memorial Services Report

The old settlers plan a grand reunion this Thursday and memorial services were held at the opera house, with Fielding Prickett noted among the deceased. An accident near the B&O Orange street crossing injured Howard Campbell, killed his horse, and demolished his wagon. he died two days later.

Lutheran Reunion Marks Two Years Of Rev Bream Arrival

On May 17 the Albion area three congregations celebrated the second anniversary of Rev Charles S Breams arrival. Attendees came from Rehoboth and Mt Pleasant. The pastor saw a 70 member increase across his charge, a new parsonage, a piano for Albion church, higher salary and boosted benevolences. He also organized Boy Scouts, supported fresh air children, helped start a PTA and serves as library board president.

Gasoline stoves blamed for Indiana fires and losses

Gasoline stove explosions caused over 145 fires in Indiana in the first eight months of the fire marshal’s office. Total losses reached 25107 dollars with 12782 on buildings and 12325 on contents. The fire marshal notes injuries and deaths result yearly from careless gasoline use.
