Post office inspector recalls Gans on the Vawter Park to Oswego mail run from July 1 1891 to July 1 1997. Over sixteen years he missed only three trips due to snow blocked roads or high water. His hands were lost in youth yet he maintained a near flawless star route record, a rare Indiana achievement.

Wrigley Renominated at Democratic Judicial Con vention

At the Columbia City convention last Thursday Judge L H Wrigley was renominated for judge of the judicial circuit by acclamation with no opposition. Whitley county proposed F J Hiller for prosecuting attorney and Noble county proposed Harry Helwig, Kendallville, with the vote 16 to 17 in Helwig’s favor and he declared the nominee.
