Community announcements from Spring Valley describe church activities at Valley Presbyterian and related social visits. Delegates attend Presbytery meetings, ladies host gatherings, and mothers seek guidance at local homes. Several members travel to nearby Lynden Manchester Clinton for meetings and visits.
Potter Brothers with Morrison Illinois headquarters and branch lumber yards at Albany Garden Plain and other points hosted their managers Tuesday at Morrison Country Club. A six oclock dinner preceded a business meeting with upbeat reports from Albany manager Bert Luzenga and Garden Plain manager Dewey Renkes. Also notes include Blue Bell camp R N A meeting with 20 members and upcoming October 16 committee assignments.
A garbled local notice and society page item recounts visits by Rev Felwiseh and others, shifts in population, school building progress, war bond solicitations, and community events in Clinton and surrounding towns with numerous named residents, churches, schools, and a forthcoming school district election.
