Minstrel Show Draws Fort Byron Audience
Mr and Mrs Alvin Slaymaker and Mr and Mrs Andrew Trent attended a 39 member minstrel in Fort Byron Tuesday evening. The Trent couple are noted musicians and appeared in the program. Mrs Marie Trent Keeley directed the entertainment. The show played to a capacity house with receipts over $200.

Capitol Theatre Fire Damages Davenport Stage
A fire caused by an acetylene torch explosion during installation of new vitaphone gear damaged the Capitol Theatre stage and screen in Davenport by about 75000 dollars. The asbestos curtain saved the auditorium interior and two hundred workers restored the stage and screen so the show could go on the next day.

Death of Frank Paul Timmerman in Tampa
Frank P Timmerman aged 76, formerly of Erie and Albany, died Sunday in Tampa Florida at his daughter Bernice Shannon's home after a long illness. Born May 8 1853 in Randolph New York, he lived 25 years in Erie in real estate and insurance, married Mary Talcott in 1877, golden wedding in Erie, later moved to Florida after his son Clarence died. Survived by his daughter in Florida and sister Mary Merrill of Prophetstown Illinois. Body to be interred in Erie family burying ground after Tampa mausoleum services.

Mrs Slaymaker sustains an injured arm.

Whiteside County gains 58033 from gasoline tax funds for highway construction. State Finance Director Kinney notes 1929 funds are fully available while earlier sums await supreme court action.
