Nashville May 12 For the first time in Tennessee voters directly nominate a United States Senator to succeed E W Carmack. Former Governor Robert L Taylor contests the seat with Carmack supporters predicting a 5 000 to 10 000 vote win. The Taylor camp claims a 25 000 majority.
Dothan Alabama May 12 Byron Trammell postmaster was acquitted this morning of the murder of Robert Barnes who he killed over alleged intimacy between Barnes and Trammell s wife. Jurors were out seventeen hours. defense pleaded temporary insanity.
